I'm supposed to be working on a lesson I'm going to be teaching but it just seems impossible to actually do any work right now. The 2% achiever in me is NOT at work right now. Instead I've been watching youtube videos of Pink. I love her so much. She is so bad ass, her voice is so rock star, her hair is mesmerizing, her body is ridiculous...I may have a slight girl crush. I'm pretty sure we would be friends.
Check out these videos:
The end of this video is ridiculous with her voice...
I'm sorry but she is actually singing with all of her acrobatic work. What?! I'm thinking I'm going to do this routine next Sunday...
And just for fun because I just saw these pics that my sister just posted on facebook and they have nothing to do with Pink but they are ridiculously cute...this is my nephew Max...
Oh give me those dimples. I can't even handle it. I love being an aunt so much.

Let the Countdown Begin!
A flight has been booked for me to go home to Iowa for 10 days in two weeks.
I cannot wait.
There is something about going home to the place that I grew up; spending time with my sweet nephews and my niece; having silly, running to the bathroom, crazy times with my mom and my sisters, that is just so good for my soul.
The last couple of months have been really hard. Dealing with health issues, being jobless, and a multitude of other things that seemed to all end up happening all on top of each other at the same time.
God is definitely teaching me so much during this season, and it's good. Hard...but good.
Sometimes when things get hard, I just want my family. Thankfully, I have the time to spend a good chunk of time with them, and all the kids are out of school.
They even said they are saving me some sparklers. I have a feeling some sparkler dances are in our near future!
I can't even handle these pics, and I can't wait to hug all these babies (not so baby anymore though.)
It's gonna be a good time!

Iowa Here I Come
I'm headed home to Iowa next week. On Monday. I CANNOT wait.
The weather is beautiful...highs in the 70's lows in the 50's. I'm gonna pack my big red suitcase full of fun fall outfits.
I can't wait to wrap my arms around my mom and just not let go for awhile.
I'm excited to snuggle with my sweet Lily Margaret and do lots of girl things.
I'm excited to play and be wild with my nephews Will and Sam.
I'm excited to sit and have a deep conversation with my oldest nephew Jackson and see him play his drums in the marching band.
I'm excited to make Max smile so that I can take in his dimples that never stop.
I'm excited to see Noah's new dance moves.
I'm gonna go ahead and say that I'm excited to see the sweet Lucy dog and wrestle with her cause she's the best dog ever.
I'm excited to make fun of Cookie the dog cause she is so scrappy.
I'm excited to get made fun of by my bro-in-laws for the amount of layers I will be wearing.
I'm excited to hear Don say, "EMMY!!" and tell me some funny and not so funny jokes.
I'm excited to laugh with my sisters until someone pees their pants.
I'm excited to see the leaves changing.
So many things I'm excited about.

A Conversation w Lily: "A Huge Salami"
So I was talking to my niece Lily Margaret on the phone yesterday:
This is how our conversation went:
Me: Hey sweet girl! how are you?
Lily: Good.
Me: How was school today?
Lily: Good.
Me: Did you have someone come to talk to your class?
Lily: Yeah.
Me: Who was it?
Lily: It was a lady who lives in Japan. The ground shook really bad and then there was a huge salami that knocked down the houses.
(oh Lord help it. my heart. bless her.)
Me: Oh wow.
Lily: But her family didn't get hurt.
Me: That's good! I'm so glad her family is ok.
(later on in the convo...)
Me: Lily, I'm so excited for you to come to Texas and visit me! Are you so excited!?
Lily: Yeah! Do you have a family?
(here we go...)
Me: Nope. Just Roommates. They are my good friends.
Lily: What are their names?
Me: Amanda, Jordan, Staci & Ani
Lily: What are their favorite games?
Me: That's a good question...I'll have to ask them.
Lily: Do they like to do crazy dances?
Me: yes. they sometimes do crazy dances.
Lily: well, I'm getting kinda tired now.
Me: Oh! ok...does that mean you are done talking?!
Lily: yeah...you wanna talk to mom?!
Oh my. LOVE this girl.
